Dancehall is the ultimate best. The music, the vibe, the energy just everything about it is so infectious to me. But, there are some things I need to address. If you are dancing with a guy for more than one song wherein the dance leads to an episode of dry sex, please guys the least you can do is offer shorty a drink. While on my recent trip to Jamaica and even here in the US, I am so tired of noticing girls who are "daggered" and receive not even a drink for her services. Think about it, a reggae dance is like simulated sex and if a chick is pleasuring you with her posture and moves the least you can do is say "Are you thirsty?" I'm beginning to wonder if this behavior reflects a guys attitude towards women or even worse life. This is exactly why when I go out I rarely if even dance with a random guy. No time for the sweat or overexerted energy, I came here too fly.
"I was digging in her so good that the only thing she could do was dig her nails into my back so deep she broke the skin. I felt the blood start collecting on my back. So I put my hands around her neck and said, “Don’t f*cking scratch me!". Then I kissed her, pinned her arms down to the bed with my hands, and drilled her with the manxilla, as she blurted out cuss words, and cries to the dear Lord himself. There are a few things during sex, that have a much deeper meaning than we know. I’ve been reading up on sexual acts and I discovered that there are unconscious things we do during sex, that have a meaning that we may not know." - From Hottest In The Hood
There has been alot of controversy over Disney's new movie which hasn't been released yet entitled "The Princess and the Frog". When creating a black character in a cartoon I guess you have to be extra careful as not to offend anyone (Al Sharpton or Oprah). To evade any backlash and prevent being called racist, or racially insensitive, Disney changed Princess Tiana's name from Maddy, which many thought was a "slave name". Disney even got Oprah on-board to contribute her voice as Princess Tiana's mother in the movie. However, Disney forgot something; Tiana's prince charming did not have the same features as her, or any other black person in America for that matter. Some people point out his light skinned skin tone, which could mean that maybe he's a light skinned brother, however features tell alot about a persons ethnic background. Many people believe that Disney's lack of creating a Black Prince may be sending the wrong message to little African American girls all over the world who are anxiously anticipating Disney's first black princess. What messages could that be?

4. So you're totally amped about this job you have been cultivating for. You went to the first interview and the rapport between yourself and the HR manager was really positive. You're invited back for the second interview and guess who is also there, the mother of that guys whose heart you stepped all over...shit.
3. There is this sample sale you have been waiting for. I mean you have really been waiting for it. You even went as far as to save for it. Mind you in the back of your head you keep reminding yourself it's Thursday and you plan out everything your going to buy. You wake up early Thursday morning, put on your "roughing it" shoes and head to the location. You get there and wonder why you see no crowd. Only to be told by the security it was last Thursday..fuck!
2. Always too much to do. You've been real busy but there is this super important event you must attend. You make an appointment with your hair stylist on the day of the event. You head to the salon early and wait for your time only to see your stylist fixing the person's hair before yours and she acccidently cuts her finger. But this is no regular cut. Blood is gushing everywhere. She ends up having to go to the hospital because the bleeding wouldnt stop. You end up using her protege and WTF you hair is ruined. The perm and the coloring was on too long you end up having to pull a Amber.
1. You met this guy and you've been speaking to him for a few weeks. He is appearing to be something to get to know more and you guys randomly decide to grab something to eat. Its the first time you guys go out anywhere together. You order something light and so does he. You guys are smiling and the lunch date is going pretty well. The bill comes and guess what homeboy doesnt have enough to pay the bill. He barely has enough to cover most of what he ordered. You end up having to fit the remainder of the bill. He says he left his wallet and didn't...who gives a fuck..he just ruined your day.

When I say Hip Hop you say Common, Hip Hop... Common..... Common has come a long way from underground Hip Hop in the 90's. He is really the definition of man, hard working, sexy as shit(<3 those freckles) and has this smile well you get the picture. He even gave us his softer side when he spoke on his relationship with Erykah Badu and how she hurt him :( I'm sure he isnt hurting anymore though, especially with his rumored fling with stallion body, Serena Williams. Can I star power? Common just launched his new cologne “Only the Brave” which will be pushed by Diesel! His acting career has also taken off and that movie money is about to grow tenfold because he is also appearing in the upcoming Termination Salvation alongside Christian Bale(May 2009). Move over, Will Smith, bc Common is in the building and hopefully by some twist of fate, well Ill keep that to myself. ;)

Twitter has swept the nation and some celebs have decided to take their promotion into their own hands and away from gossip and hip hop bloggers. Asher Roth who has a twitter page has recently come under scrutiny for a distasteful joke that he made VIA his twitter page. I could go on and on about how wrong it was for Asher Roth to even attempt to make a comment like the one pictured above, or how its no big deal because he was only joking, and I totally got and understood the joke, however I wont do that because I'm sure that plenty of other people have done it already on thousands of other blogs.
Most celebs have publicists for a reason; they are there to stop celebrities from doing or saying something stupid before they do, as well as being there to help those celebs clean up their messes after they do or say something that they shouldn't have.
Is it a good idea for these celebrities to get on twitter or any other social networking website, or blog and be themselves?
When Solange announced that she was high off of NyQuil (because she was sick) and passed out at an airport the blogs were buzzing about it, and some bloggers called her an attention whore.
When Diddy spoke on his 'Tantric Sex' sessions those remarks ended up on MSNBC.
Now Asher Roth makes a comment stating that he was at a Rutgers game 'chilling with nappy headed hoes' a couple of days ago which clearly upset alot of people.
Are these incidents signs that stars should probably stick to their publicists and public relations people, and continue to allow them to make statements and press releases for them?
Or are they signs that people should stop and remember that these high profile celebrities are ONLY HUMAN?
P.S. - In no way, shape, or form am I, A black woman, condoning what he typed on his twitter page, because it was undoubtedly in poor taste and also very offensive towards African American Women, joke or not.
