Do you remember the first time you realized life wasn't what you saw on TV? Or rather when you decided to accept what glitters isn't always gold? Dina Goldstein makes one of the most dramatic public portrayals of reality that I've seen in a while (well besides real life).
What does this mean to us as rebel fashionistas?

Did you miss it? OMG! Fun times had by everyone! Sipping, shopping and grooving to Tash's dope performance, Wealthy Hostage was the place to be last night. Spilling out onto the Church Ave sidewalks, people were even crowded outside of the store just to be apart of the happenings. Will you be at the next BOYS+CLOTHES Sip+Shop? I think you should!

Check out some of the pics...

Awaiting to be called up to the panel

Pride Week in NYC has kicked off and as another way to show our support to the underserved and underappreciated gay black community, I was honored to have been asked to sit on the "Greet The Press" panel to voice my opinion on how important it is for our gay brothers and sisters to stake their claim in the media. Obviously, I'm not gay or a gay black male for that matter but, I do understand the lack of support one might find when they dare to be different and live their lives according to what makes them happy. It was important to me as a human and then as a black person to participate on this panel.

Hearing the varied stories, questions and concerns of those on the panel and in the audience, I wasn't surprised that "their" voices don't sound any different from the straightest man or woman in America. Just wanting to be looked at as someone from a low income area trying to make it or a professional black man in Corporate America, they're the stories of indivduals. Why should we support more black gay media outlets? "Because if you don't tell YOUR story someone else WILL!" That was the most powerful line I walked away from the entire evening. Writers, bloggers, reporters, let's be more inclusive in our storytelling and reporting. Let's be more open to the sources and audiences we serve and support. Our issues are human, not straight, not gay, HUMAN.

For more information on Greet The Press and the amazing organizations involved with bringing this event and like events together please visit www.thefutureforward.net. Also stay tuned for my interview on The Rainbow Collective TV. Maurice gives me some good advice about what to watch out for with you boys...

These Air Force 1 Hi’s are inspired by the variety of fake vendors on Canal Street. Did you peep the Canal Street label on the back and the gold watch link? Priceless! They're available at custom shops such as Sole Food.

Tiny & Toya, the current and former significant others of two of music's biggest stars have their own reality show airing June 30th on BET. It's an interesting combination where two women are given an opportunity to have their lives shown in a light not surrounding whom they are affiliated with. Tiny for one was a member of the platinum recording group Xscape and even penned TLC's hit song No Scrubs. Alot can be said about this promo clip but their shoes are on fire. I can't wait to see the first episode!

Man, I am all about overindulgence (shit, once I spent over $200 in lotto tickets in one sitting, for real) but, I have to ask, does this take the cake?

The internet is buzzing with pics of T-Pain in a chain which cost, ahem, let me breathe...$410K. Yes I said, $410,000! To all the naysayers, Mr. Pain asserted that he did make sure his family was straight before he purchased this piece and might he add, his oldest daughter who is 5 already has $4 million in the bank!

Weight: 10lbs
Kts: 197
Value: $410K
Causing everyone to take a second look: Priceless

Cee and Teneille at the Issue 2 Party

"Besides, myself Teneille, the Editor-In-Chief of Boys+Clothes, is the coolest girl everyone should know. She definitely has a pedigree comparable to the best. Since 18, Teneille has immersed herself in the fashion industry with other credits including being the Fashion Editor for Clutch Magazine. With the competitive edge of offering fun, yet informative tidbits throught the art of storytelling, Teneille definitely has a finger on the pulse of what the "coming up age twenty-something woman" wants. Still on a high from debuting the second issue of Boys+Clothes on June 1st, Teneille took some time out of her well-deserved busy schedule to answer a few questions. Keep reading to see why Anna Wintour should be on the look out, why Spike Lee is on her wishlist and why she has an obsession with ripped jeans."
