Popularized by "Sex and the City: The Movie," Avelle (formerly known as Bag, Borrow, or Steal) has become the largest online rented-luxury retailer since its introduction in 2004. In one line of the movie, Carrie Bradshaw's assistant Louise (depicted by Jennifer Hudson) admits that she borrows pricey handbags from Seattle's Bag, Borrow, or Steal, describing it as a "Netflix for purses."

Giving the budget conscious fashionista the opportunity to "borrow" (rent) more than 4,000 styles of luxury at a fraction of the cost (with the option to buy, or "steal") from more than 100 authentic designers, including Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Coach, Stephen Dweck, and Vera Wang, Bag, Borrow, or Steal is a playground for girls caught up in superficial glamour that want to dress like Sarah Jessica and live like Princess Diana. Now she doesn't have to worry about putting in extra hours at the office just so she can afford the trendy clutch that she's been eyeing all month in the display window of the local boutique. But will she be able to uphold the impression of living a high sadity lifestyle?

I think this makes sense. Regular folks can't just update their bags every season, so why not rent expensive ones if you feel compelled. Some of them will be out of style before you know it, word to those multi color Murakami LVs. I heard of people saving so long for those, only for them to be out of style in less than a year. Even though its silly to keep up with the Joneses, if you want to this is probably a good idea for you.
